We’ve been meeting here in Iowa City since 2012 — people of every age and background sitting side by side around the preaching of God’s Word. Visitors tell us the family spirit is the first thing they notice.

A small church with a very big family
Crosspoint Baptist Church started on July 1, 2012, when Pastor Mike Barr and his family began inviting people from the community to come. It has been exciting to see how the Lord has worked over these years — people of all ages have come to know Christ as Savior and have followed the Lord in baptism.
Our goal is simple: to point people to Jesus Christ and to glorify Him in all things. We sing the great hymns of the faith, we preach from the King James Bible, and we reach out to Iowa City through soul winning and outreach — while supporting seven missionaries around the world.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to walk through the door. Come as you are.
When We Gather
Three times a week, around one Book
Nursery, Children’s Church and youth run at every service — so you can bring the whole family and actually hear the preaching.

A home of our own
For years this church met wherever it could find a room. Today Crosspoint sits on its own ground on Sioux Avenue, just south of Highway 6 — with room for the kids to run, room for the church to grow, and a cross on the front of the building that everyone driving past can see.

Fairmeadows Park, Iowa City
Two evenings of games, snacks and a Bible lesson for kids ages 7–13 at Fairmeadows Park. Registration is at the pavilion near the splash pad — arrive early to register!
